Ep. 3 Jim Neuburg | Shining Light on Shadows

Updated: Mar 16

Please join me and my co-host, Dawn Helmrich, for the third episode of “Shining Light on Shadows: A Candid Conversation About Mental Health.” Our guest will be Jim Neuburg.

As Jim details in a blog post he wrote for this episode, he is an introvert who has struggled with anxiety, depression and addiction his entire life. (Spoiler Alert: He’s been sober for 20 years!). Dawn is an extrovert who struggles with anxiety and depression.

We’ll be live Thursday, March 14 at 7pm ET / 6pm CT. If you can’t watch the show live, you can watch the recording at your convenience on this website or the links below.

You can watch the recording here or or watch and comment on social media: Facebook | Twitter | LinkedIn | YouTube | Instagram

*We won’t know the exact urls for Twitter and Instagram until we go live. These links go to Neil and Dawn’s accounts respectively.

As Jim wrote in his blog post, “My anxiety and depression reached heights I could never have imagined. At the peak of my alcoholism, I was having severe panic attacks, suicidal thoughts and hearing voices. Dealing with these things while being a practicing alcoholic was near impossible. I found myself falling deeper and deeper into insanity.”

We launched this twice a month show (the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month)  in order to help reduce the stigma associated with mental health. In the coming weeks and months, we’ll be joined by friends and colleagues who are working through or have worked through their own challenges, practitioners who can speak to some of the issues faced by their clients and advocates who can talk about a range of different issues.

The show is produced by Digimentors on a pro bono basis.
