I have had the domain neilparekh.org for more than 10 years. I set it up so that I could have a personalized email address. I never really thought about setting up a website until recently.
We took a family trip to Maui in November 2022. It was the trip of a lifetime. I took over 2,000 pictures and knew that I would need to find a more effective way to share them than just posting to Facebook and Instagram. I also wanted to start sharing observations on review sites like Yelp and Google. I found them particularly helpful as we planned outings on our trip. I thought I wouldn’t be able to tell the full story or share as many pictures as I’d like in a review. My thought was that the review (or social media posts) would be concise, but point back to a longer post on a site that I control.
In addition to sharing my photography, I also had a few ideas that I’d been kicking around that would work well as blog posts. With these two thoughts in mind, I set about identifying which platform I’d use to design my site. I also have an upcoming project or two that will need online homes. I’ll share more on that soon.
